Newsletter Article: Strong Partnerships and Student Success
We extend our deepest gratitude to our valued partners, the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde (CTGR), for their unwavering support of educational programs in our community. Their recent initiative at the Spirit Mountain Casino, placing a "blue box" at each payout station, is a brilliant example of community collaboration. Patrons can now easily donate their winning tickets to the Martha Jane Sands Education Fund, keeping funds local for our kids. As we like to say, it's "slots for tots"! This thoughtful program makes it easy for everyone to contribute to student success and ensures that every little bit, even those forty-seven-cent tickets, makes a big difference in an educational program for our local students.
Academic Highlights
We have successfully crossed the midpoint of our semester, and the results are encouraging. We see improved student attendance and higher marks across all our academic areas.
Our students continue to excel outside the classroom as well:
FFA was recently at the National Convention, proudly representing our local agricultural community.
Our highly-ranked welding team continues to compete with distinction across the state.
Upcoming Planning and Events
We will soon be sending a survey to all parents to gather input on our academic calendar. Specifically, we are looking for feedback on the late start schedule for the MSHS (Middle/High School) as we explore options for better alignment for all our families. As we schedule for the next academic year in the spring, any changes would need to be implemented now.
Fall sports have concluded, and we are now in the winter training season. This is an ideal time for students to catch up on their studies and for parents to encourage post-secondary planning. To get our students thinking about their futures, we recently had students visit Oregon State University and other industry partner field trips.
This week, we are proud to host a College and Career Fair, giving students the chance to speak directly with recruiters. A special thank you again to our partners at the CTGR for their essential help with the logistics of this important event!
Proud Bulldog!
