Clubs in a school district are extracurricular groups that students can join to pursue interests, develop skills, and build relationships outside of the traditional classroom setting. They're a core part of a student's educational experience, providing a platform for personal growth and community involvement
Benefits of Joining a Club
Participating in clubs provides numerous benefits that go beyond academic achievement.
Skill Development: Clubs are a great way for students to hone essential skills like leadership, teamwork, and time management. Juggling club responsibilities with schoolwork teaches them how to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Personal Growth: By joining a club, students can explore new passions, step outside their comfort zone, and build self-confidence. This can lead to a deeper understanding of themselves and their long-term goals.
College and Career Readiness: Colleges often look for well-rounded applicants who are involved in extracurriculars. Clubs demonstrate a student's initiative, commitment, and ability to contribute to a community, which are all highly valued traits.

Purpose:
The Yearbook Club will provide an opportunity for students to participate in the creation of the school yearbook, especially for those who are unable to take the Yearbook class due to scheduling conflicts. This club will give more students a chance to contribute their creativity, leadership, and school spirit to one of our most meaningful traditions.
Benefits:
Increases student involvement and ownership in a major school project.
Offers an alternative pathway for students who want to be part of yearbook but cannot fit the class into their schedule.
Develops real-world skills in photography, design, writing, editing, and teamwork.
Builds school community and pride.
Meeting Time:
The club will meet on Monday mornings from 9:30–10:30. This consistent time will allow members to collaborate, contribute ideas, and complete tasks that support the Yearbook staff.
Lunch meetings could be scheduled as needed based on deadlines and completion of spreads.

A SMILE (STEM) club is a student club that focuses on hands-on activities and projects related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The acronym "SMILE" often stands for "Science and Math Investigative Learning Experiences" or something similar, emphasizing an inquiry-based approach to learning.
These clubs are designed to:
Make STEM fun and accessible: They move beyond traditional classroom lectures and textbook learning to engage students in exciting, practical applications of STEM concepts.
Encourage teamwork and problem-solving: Students work together on challenges, experiments, and design projects, developing critical thinking and collaboration skills.
Spark curiosity and innovation: By exploring topics like robotics, coding, rocketry, or environmental science, students are inspired to ask questions, experiment, and come up with their own solutions.
Provide real-world context: SMILE clubs often connect with local universities, businesses, or professionals to expose students to potential career paths in STEM fields.
In short, a SMILE club is a dynamic, out-of-the-classroom environment where students can explore their interests in STEM through hands-on, collaborative, and creative activities.
SMILE will be meeting in Ms. Sagmiller's classroom every Wednesday during lunch.
