Announces its Superintendent Selection

The Wilamina School District Board of Directors is pleased to announce that a contract for Superintendent has been offered to and signed by Mike Gass. 

Mike Gass is currently the Interim Superintendent at the Clear Creek School District in Idaho Springs, Colorado.  He has been the Interim Superintendent this school year.  Previously, he was an elementary principal for three years in the Lincoln County School District in Newport, Oregon, and the Superintendent for five years in the Telluride School District in Telluride, Colorado.  Also, he has held numerous other administrative and teaching positions in Colorado.  He owns a home in Otter Rock, Oregon.

There were 20 completed applicants for the position. The board interviewed 3 finalists for the position during the week of March 11. Mike Gass will assume the duties of superintendent beginning July 1. 

McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. served as consultants in the search process and will continue working with the Willamina Board of Directors and the new superintendent in helping establish performance objectives for Mike Gass.
