May brings with it a focus on Recognition and Celebrations within the Willamina School District. The grand event of the month will undoubtedly be the Willamina High School graduation on May 31st. We've already celebrated the achievements of our students at the FFA banquet and honored inductees into our Hall of Fame. As the year draws to a close, we will also take time to recognize and thank our departing Board members for their dedicated service.
In addition to these celebrations, we are excited to share that our Bond construction projects are gearing up. This significant undertaking will bring vital improvements to our facilities, creating enhanced learning environments for our students. More detailed updates on the progress of these projects will be shared in the coming weeks.
Looking ahead to the summer, WSD will offer summer learning opportunities designed to support continued student growth and provide avenues for those needing to catch up. Additionally, our summer meals program will be available at various locations throughout the district, and further details on these programs will be shared soon.
Last week, we observed Teacher Appreciation, and I want to extend my sincere gratitude to all of our dedicated staff members – not just our teachers – for their tireless efforts throughout the year. While education can be a challenging field, I firmly believe it is among the most rewarding. I am continually humbled by the passion and heart I witness every day within our district.
