Finalists for Superintendent Interviews

Willamina, Oregon – The Wilamina School District Board of Directors is pleased to announce 3 candidates who are being invited to interview for the Willamina Superintendent position:

• Kourtney Ferrua; Director of Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment; McMinnville School District, McMinnville, Oregon

• Mike Gass; Interim Superintendent; Clear Creek School District, Idaho Springs Colorado

• Sarah Norwood; Elementary Principal; Willamina School District, Willamina, Oregon 

Interviews are scheduled to be conducted the week of March 11, 2024.  More information on the interview schedule will be sent at a later date.  Numerous stakeholder groups will have the opportunity to meet the final candidates and submit input to the board about each of them. The board intends to make their selection by March 18, 2024.

The Willamina School District retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. to assist in conducting their search. The consultants reviewed, screened, and conducted extensive background checks on 20 completed applicants. On March 4, 2024, the consultants presented 6 qualified applicants to the Board of Directors in Executive Session, where detailed background information on each applicant was reviewed. Prior to applicant reviews, McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. held stakeholder meetings and also provided the opportunity for input through an online survey. This information was provided to our School Board to assist them when reviewing applicants.
