Position Description for Willamina School District, Oregon
The Willamina School District, Willamina, Oregon, School Board, is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position July 1, 2024.
McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the School Board in identifying and screening the candidates.
Enrollment: 870 students
Location: Located in Polk, Yamhill, and Tillamook counties, including Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde. Encompasses an area of approximately 254 square miles.

Is collaborative, approachable and inclusive – working well with a wide variety of constituents having a broad and equitable perspective
Is culturally and linguistically responsive
Has effective communication and listening skills with all constituents – all staff, parents, students and community members
Is a strong supporter of CTE programs
High degree of integrity, honesty and transparency with strong core values that are consistent with our rural community
Puts students first - is committed to serving all students K-12
Understands the needs and requirements of diverse learners
Is committed to excellent communication and developing and maintaining a positive relationship with the school board
Understands school finance, demonstrates sound fiscal management and strong budgeting skills
Has strong conflict resolution skills
Is a strong team builder - has aptitude to lead, shape and motivate staff and others toward a common vision
Is willing to listen and gather information in order to make the hard decisions
Willing to get hands dirty – not afraid to do the hard work
Required:
-Has or is able to obtain an Oregon Superintendent license
-Experience as a lead administrator
Preferred:
-Experience and understanding of a small rural school district and community
Salary: $155K - $165K

Selection of New Interim Superintendent: March 18, 2024
