Willamina School District’s nationally award winning Nutrition Services offer variety and well-balanced nutritious meals at a low or no cost. School Nutrition Programs provide an assortment of meals including daily breakfast in the classroom at no charge to all students. Lunches that include a fruit and vegetable variety bar and free mid-morning fresh fruit and vegetable program. All school meals are healthy and meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. By choosing lunch at school, students learn to make healthy choices, reinforcing nutrition education taught in the classroom and cafeteria.

Schools across the nation are being required to increase lunch prices

Why are lunch prices increasing? Mandated by the new Healthy, Hungry Free Kids Act of 2010, (Public Law 111-296), the new “Equity in Lunch Pricing” Provision requires all schools participating in the National School Lunch Program to raise lunch prices until USDA established minimums are met.
